Since its inception in 1987, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM) has served as a beacon of hope, advocacy, and empowerment for millions of individuals worldwide. Championed by President Ronald Reagan, the proclamation of DDAM marked a pivotal moment in history—a call to action to create a more inclusive society where individuals with developmental disabilities could thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
