Hudson Valley Gives
We Will Get There
May 20, 2026
On May 20, In Flight participated in Hudson Valley Gives. A day of giving in the Hudson Valley, where nonprofits compete to raise the most money within 24 hours. This year, we are fundraising for multiple innovative opportunities for our community and our programs.
In Flight, Inc. is committed to creating innovative opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience and feel included among our Hudson Valley community.
Because of our community, we were able to raise $2,353 towards the following important initiatives:
Get in the Photo:
For 20 years, In Flight’s Annual Holiday Formal has brought together local people with disabilities, their families, and provider agencies for a night of celebration, connection, and belonging. Now welcoming over 550 attendees each year, the event creates an accessible and inclusive space where people can make memories, build friendships, and simply enjoy being themselves. These memories need to be captured, to look back upon and smile at the fun had between peers. That’s why we are asking for our community’s support to bring back the photo booth again this year and help us “Get in the Photo.”
We Got There!
Because of YOU, we can Get in the Photo and have a photo booth at our Annual Holiday Formal this year! Because of YOU, we can keep forging more memories and core moments and give each person at Holiday Formal a photograph that will make them smile all year round. We are incredibly grateful to all of those who supported us this Hudson Valley Gives and made this possible!
Get in the Game:
This year, Hoops 4 Inclusion brought our community together on the basketball court alongside In Flight’s staff and individuals, including our Special Olympics team, the Ulster Tigers. What began as one individual’s idea to create an In Flight team has grown into a program built on confidence, teamwork, friendship, and personal growth. Through their dedication, the Ulster Tigers continue to grow as athletes and individuals, creating a space where they can challenge themselves and be a part of a team. In Flight is committed to expanding its Special Olympics programming so more individuals can find their passion in sports and be recognized by their athletic talents, rather than having an intellectual or developmental disability. That’s why we are asking for our community’s support to “Get in the Game” and expand our programming to include additional sports and offer fitness clinics to build confidence and skills.
Get on the Stage:
Earlier this month, In Flight and Standing Room Only Theater Company’s SRO P.L.U.S. theater program sold out both performances of its third full production. Designed for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the program helps participants build theater skills, confidence, friendships, and self-expression in a creative and inclusive space. But these performances don’t happen on their own. With your support, we can “Get on the Stage” by covering the cost of costumes, props, production rights, and opportunities for even more performers to step into the spotlight.
Get Growing:
Last fall, In Flight’s I-SAIL program opened a third location in partnership with Lonely Worm Farm in Hyde Park. In this inclusive farm setting, adults with disabilities gain hands-on job training while participating in arts, agriculture, and daily living experiences that build confidence, creativity, and independence. We are asking our community to help us “Get Growing” and help us continue to expand opportunities for this new collaboration, supporting accessibility and opportunities to learn vocational skills.
Get Active:
Our Day Habilitation programs are designed for people with disabilities with unique strengths and needs, focusing on various therapies to strengthen their skills and abilities in communication, mobility, or learning household skills. With community support, we can install technology such as the Dynamic Floor or Draw Alive to encourage movement while learning and exploring interests.
Although Hudson Valley Gives is officially over, we are still determined to keep growing, keep building these opportunities, and keep forging more memories and core moments for everyone.
Continue the momentum and be the reason behind that sports win, that first moment in the spotlight, their first seedling that grows, that photograph that makes them smile. Be the reason behind how we will get there - together.
