DSP of the Month: Geoff Osborn
Congratulations to our Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Month of March, Geoff Obsorn!
“Geoff has a consistent dedication to not only our I-SAIL program but most importantly, the people we support,” shares Samantha-Ann Whittaker, his Catskill I-SAIL Supervisor. “He had no issues with stepping up for a few months and took on some managerial duties at the time when there wasn’t a manager. Geoff was open to learning new duties and happy to assist with whatever was needed and asked of him. He went above and beyond to make sure the program continued to run strong. The participants look forward to seeing Geoff. They especially enjoy talking to him about different sports and activities they did throughout their week when they aren’t at the program.”
Geoff has recently started assisting with our Community Pre-Voc program. This program consists of taking our individuals to volunteer opportunities, assisting them with growing their soft and hard skills. This is to help our individuals prepare for potential paid employment. “Geoff,” Samantha-Ann continues, “displays great passion and patience when conducting different employment lessons in the Pre-Voc program and hands-on activities.”
Our individuals notice Geoff’s dedication. They acknowledge this by showing their eagerness to tell Geoff about the experiences they have in the community and how they incorporated his teachings into a specific situation. “He has always been a team player,” shares Samantha-Ann, “and shows it daily through his strong work ethic and his constant dedication in wanting to assist in bettering the lives of the people we support. Geoff is a great asset to our I-SAIL and In Flight family.”
