A Year of Growth and Inspiration

Over the past year, Tiffany has poured her heart and soul into every episode. She’s donned the hat of an interviewer, engaging with peers, staff members, and members of our community. But this journey has been about more than just becoming a proficient host; it’s been a journey of self-discovery and growth.

Tiffany’s episodes have been a platform for showcasing her diverse talents. Her singing, drawing, and culinary skills have graced our screens and filled our ears with joy. But it’s not just about her; it’s about uplifting the talents and accomplishments of others too. Tiffany has masterfully shone a spotlight on the amazing abilities within our community.

From Dream to Reality

What started off as a dream Tiffany shared with our Director of Development and External Affairs, Jill Rodriquez, transformed into the beautiful reality that Tea Time with TC has become. Jill had just started at In Flight when she met Tiffany at our Red Hook I-SAIL Academy. After explaining to Tiffany what her role is for the growth of In Flight, Tiffany saw this as a perfect opportunity. Tiffany has had the dream to be a talk show host and what better person to help her with making it than someone who will be doing In Flight’s marketing! With this, Jill went to work on making this dream a reality. Not long after, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, causing a halt in not only the lives of the world, but in creating the podcast.

Years past as the pandemic was still prevalent in our community until Jill and Tiffany were able to come back together without any boundaries to finally get the ball rolling. With Jill’s newest addition to her Development department, the team sat down to discuss Tiffany’s vision for her show.

From the start Tiffany has been a shining star. Taking lead on what to call her show, who she interviews, and what she wants to share to the world – the Development Department just used their tools to create the video version and showcase her podcast to the world.

Determination and Empowerment

It’s not just a podcast. Tea Time with TC is a testament to Tiffany’s determination to share her thoughts, grow her communication skills, and build meaningful connections. It highlights In Flight’s mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for their hopes and dreams. Everyone has a voice to share with the world and with the proper tools, we can make anyone’s dream become a reality.

Although in the initial days Tiffany sought guidance on what questions to ask, she has grown into a seasoned professional. In the latest episode, the Tea Time Anniversary Special, she takes on the incredible feat of interviewing four people at once! It’s a testament to her dedication and how far she’s come in just one year.

As we look back on this incredible year, we can’t help but feel excited about what lies ahead. With hope to grow segments and interview more community members, we are hopeful to accomplish more towards Tiffany’s goals this coming year.
