Kayliegh Mabb – Highlight and Spotlight
Kayliegh Mabb, LPN, has been an amazing asset to In Flight, Inc. over the years. Starting off at Special Needs Program, which was then taken over by In Flight, she stayed through the process through the love of what she does and who she supports.
Why did you join In Flight?
I started off at Special Needs Program in 2008, which was taken over by In Flight in 2014.
What do you do at In Flight?
I currently work in the Nursing Program as an LPN.
Briefly describe a day at your position.
My day-to-day involves checking medications at the house to make sure we have all of the medicines needed, and to make sure everything was given correctly. I correspond regularly with their doctors to address any medical concerns we might have. Also, I will check on the guys if they have any bruises or marks. I help maintain all their medical records to ensure all their appointments are completed and any recommendations followed up on.
How did you get into this field?
I started this job at 19 because I had a young child and needed a job. I have stayed at this job because I love what I do!
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is seeing and getting to spend time with the people we support.
How has In Flight helped you towards your professional goals?
After working in a residential setting as a Direct Support Professional for over a decade, I needed a fresh start. Auditing really appealed to me because I like writing and often over-edit myself. When I saw the job description for Quality Assurance, I thought it may be the right fit for me. I have a new career path as an auditor and investigator, and I wouldn’t have had that opportunity if I hadn’t joined In Flight.
