Kasondra Fox – Highlight and Spotlight

Kasondra Fox has been a tremendous asset at In Flight since her start in 2011. Originally a Direct Support Professional, Kasondra climbed through the ranks until landing at her permanent home in our IT Department.

Why did you join In Flight?

My mother-in-law works with the company, and I loved hearing her stories about how fulfilling her job was. My career here started as a DSP in the Ghent Day Hab in September of 2011 with Special Needs and then to In Flight during the merger in 2014

What do you do at In Flight?

I am the IT Manager of the Information Technology department.

Briefly describe a day at your position.

Every day is different, which is what makes the IT department exciting. We may have to check in on the servers, do system updates, or go to the Programs or different administrative offices to fix any problems that occurred overnight or through the weekend.

How did you get into this field?

I was a manager at a local restaurant and wanted a change of pace. At the restaurant, we had an individual from another local agency come to work with us. Collaborating with her and understanding how to help her was the main reason I became interested in becoming a DSP. I also have been a DSP II, Day Hab Manager, Human Resources & Finance Assistant, Medical Transport before my move to the IT department. I helped fix a printer at a location as Med Transporter, Greg arrived shortly after and offered me to join his team, and the rest is history.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is finding a solution to a problem someone is having or that we are having with a piece of equipment. To me, it is fun to use inductive reasoning to solve an issue.

How has In Flight helped you towards your professional goals?

I have benefited from the Tuition reimbursement that In Flight provides as I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in IT & Management. I am excited to continue to grow within In Flight.
