On February 20th, we celebrate National Leadership Day. This is a time to recognize and appreciate the individuals who guide, inspire, and empower others to achieve their goals. At In Flight, Inc., our executive team plays a vital role in supporting our mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to reach for their hopes and dreams, and support a meaningful quality of life.

Celebrating Our Executive Team

The inspiring leadership at In Flight goes beyond decision-making—it is about fostering a culture of empowerment, inclusivity, and collaboration. Our executive team works tirelessly to support our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and program participants. They ensure that everyone has the tools and resources they need to succeed.

Each member of our executive team brings unique expertise and a shared commitment to our mission:

In Flight’s Chief Officers:

  • Matthew G. Bateman, CEO: Since 2010, Matt has led In Flight through significant growth, ensuring the voices of those we support are heard and their needs met.
  • Nevena Ilcheva, CFO: With a background in public accounting and financial investigation, Nevena ensures financial transparency and sustainability.
  • Dr. Thomas Bathrick, CCO: With 20+ years in nursing and a Doctorate in Public Health, Dr. Bathrick upholds the highest standard of care and program quality.
  • Greg Krom, CIO: Inspired by his personal connection to our mission, Greg uses his expertise in technology to improve operational efficiency and security.

In Flight’s Vice Presidents:

  • John Gambino, VP of Residential and Day Habilitation: With over two decades of experience, John oversees essential services while continuing his lifelong dedication to helping others.
  • Teresa Stivala, VP of Human Resources: With 25+ years in human resources, Teresa champions staff development and organizational culture, empowering those who empower others daily.
  • Dr. Sarah Branham, VP of Clinical Services: Since 2016, Dr. Branham has led clinical programs with a person-centered approach, earning her Ph.D. in General Psychology in 2020.
  • Jennifer Wells, VP of Community Services and Program Development: Since joining In Flight in 2018, Jennifer has brought over 25 years of experience in the developmental disabilities field, enhancing and continuously developing the community services provided.

Directors at In Flight:

  • Jill Rodriquez, Director of Philanthropy & External Affairs: With over a decade of experience in marketing, community relations, and philanthropy, Jill has built In Flight’s philanthropic and marketing initiatives from the ground up to further In Flight’s mission and aid in funding needed services.
  • Diane Janelli, Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance: With over 40 years of nursing and leadership experience, Diane drives performance improvement and operational efficiency at In Flight, Inc. with the safety of our individuals being at the forefront.
  • Fortunate Higgins, Residential Director: With a strong background as a DSP, care manager, and program director, Fortunate brings over a decade of experience in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with a Master’s Degree, to ensure the best support is provided.
  • Diane Schneider, Facilities Manager: Since joining In Flight in 2008, Diane has advanced from receptionist to Facilities Manager, bringing years of experience and dedication to overseeing the maintenance and operation of the organization’s facilities.

Our executive team sets the foundation for growth and opportunity. They guide innovative programs like I-SAIL to champion initiatives that promote community integration. Additionally, they are dedicated to breaking down barriers and building pathways that lead to independence and self-advocacy.
