But did you know this beloved event has roots that go back a few years?

The First Bloom: 2022

The very first Flower, Fair, and Flea was held in 2022, born from a vision of bringing the community together for a spring celebration that combined local businesses, the start of warmer weather, and support for a great cause. Set against the backdrop of Ghent’s scenic beauty, the event brought together vendors, families, and friends for a day of outdoor shopping and connection.

Local artisans showcased handmade goods, plants and seeds – even trees were up for purchase – all while In Flight staff, families, and supporters helped share the nonprofit’s mission and raise essential funds for programming. It wasn’t just a market—it was a movement of community empowerment.

The turnout and excitement from the inaugural event made it clear: this was something special.

Though the event didn’t return in 2023 or 2024, the spirit of the Flower Fair and Flea never faded. Community members often asked, “When is it coming back?” That enthusiasm planted the seed for a return—and now, in 2025, it’s time for the Flower Fair & Flea to bloom once more.
